Banana Bread Muffins

These were a little something I whipped up today. One because I have tins of bananas to use up and two because I wanted to house to have a treat in it for this coming weekend. Bill and I are taking a weekend for ourselves~! A much needed weekend I must say. We have been all over the place for the last month and just want some time alone. Im looking forward to it because we have all kinds of fun stuff planned. Yeah you were thinking quiet weekend means sitting at home and just being together, wrong~! We are headed to help a friend move tonight, then getting up early to make it to the public market to get some awesome treats. Im looking for mostly veggies and fruit this time. Although I plan on getting some more of the raviolis I got last time. I know this sounds a little out there but they were black bean, pepper jack, cilantro ones. OMG I made a spicy marinara and garlic toast and Bill and I devoured them. Soo good~! I think we might try and get some bacon too from the little place we found. Im pretty much super excited about taking him because he wants to go. He doesnt like the crowd and the parking but a friend showed us a private lot thats totally awesome and $2. So we will be parking there and getting our shop on~!

I dont think we have any plans on Sunday other than a nice weekend breakfast and some together time. Some yummy grilling and time outside. I really hope it doesnt rain all weekend like they are suggesting~! Oh well Ill do what I want~! Ok well thats all for now. I hope You all have a wonderful weekend~! :-)

Pies

Take a look at these tasty little treats~! I made individual pies for dessert tonight. Three apple and one strawberry rhubarb one for me :-). Bill claims he hates the stuff but I have a feeling it was either cooked the wrong way or he has never really had it and is being a brat about it :-P

Tonight should be good. Trying a new homemade marinade for chicken tonight. Its Asian inspired so it should be totally good. Ill let you know and pass along the recipe.

Talk to you all soon~! Thanks for taking a peek~!

Happy Mother's Day~!

Happy Mother's Day to all you mommas out there in blogger land~! I hope you all have a wonderful day with your loved ones~! Im sorry I was unable to spend the day with my mom and grandmother but looking forward to our time together next weekend in Paul Smiths, NY, for my brother graduation~!

This weekend has been full of all kinds of exciting adventures~! Yesterday I got up early to make it to our local farmers market with a couple of friends. I have to say it was a pretty successful trip. It was my first visit of the year and now I have a good understanding of the vendors and their prices. Bill and I talked about starting to go there every weekend so we could try and get our produce at a cheaper price and buy locally. We agreed that it was nice to see the person the money goes to at the market rather the large store that filters the money here and there. I think I will continue to get my meat from the local grocery store but when wanting a treat or something different I look forward to buying meat at the market too. It's nice being able to find local, grass fed meat at a reasonable price when I want it.

So after the market I hung out with the ladies for the morning catching up on all the things we are doing with our lives. It was so nice to reconnect and get back on the band wagon with them. It was a long separation but one I hope is over. I look forward to more hangouts and defiantly some serious bbqing. I can not wait for Matt to try out his smoker on some bacon~! OMG soo good~!

I headed home after talking with the girls for a couple hours to some time with Bill. It was nice to have the house in order and all errands out of the way so we could just be together and hang out. We played WoW for a bit and caught up on one of our favorite shows; Always Sunny in Philadelphia~! I did take a little nap before getting ready for Roller Derby.

What an awesome sport! I really had no idea what to expect when going to watch it but by the end of it I was totally into it and ready for another bout. The girls we were tough and super speedy skates. The Rochester team was real good. It was a little sad that we lost but it was such a close game~!

We ended up at the Distillery for dinner which was great. Got some pitchers of beer and some burgers and just hung out. It was nice to catch up even more with everyone. In a lot of ways everyone has gone their own directions in life but when we all sit down together its like we never lost touch at all.

Being able to look back at it now I know we all had changed in little ways and were headed in different directions but the feeling of friendship and closeness is still there. Looking back at it now, I know a lot of the changes were in myself. I was at a new job, one that was very stressful and tiresome, and everyone else had the same. I let the job take over every part of my social life to the point that the only people I was able to hang out with were co-workers. Which is good and bad in some ways~! Letting go of the others we typically hung out with was huge, because those people were a huge part of who I was and I was letting a small part of myself go with the, Those people made me better as a whole and in a sense I let them down too. Dont get me wrong the job wasnt awful and it was rewarding in more ways than I can count, but at the same time I had to let go of many other wonderful things to get what I did out of the job. Looking at it now I can see the good and the bad. I dont regret anything I did or didnt do, but I do wish I had started off on a better foot with being able to balance both and not being so absorbed in one to have let the other slip away.

The nice part about not having a job right now is the fact I have time to take care of the things I wasnt before. Rekindling friendships, and family and all other things around me. I cant tell you how much Bills and My relationship has blossomed because I dont have the stress I did before. And I understand that with any job theres going to be stress and you arent going to like everything you do 100% but there are jobs out there that you dont have to compromise who you are to get to where you need to be. Little compromises make us who we are, but big ones that require us to change everything we've ever been.....

Anyways.... This weekend has been wonderful and I cant wait for more like it to come. Have a great day everyone and enjoy~!

Weekend~!

We had a wonderful weekend at home full of family, friends and food. Bill got to rest a little bit more, and is now ready to get back to work. He told me on the way back here to Rochester, that he missed work. I never thought I'd hear him say that but I totally did.

The wedding was beautiful. Absolutely perfect for the two of them. The church was breath taking. It literally looked like someone had picked it up from the middle of England, and placed it on a very rural back country road, in the middle of blossoming trees nestled in the woods. The weather was outstanding for the first day of May with a whopping 80*F. Holy Cow~! The cocktail hour was great with tons of food and a nice chance for the bride and groom to make their way around the room to greet and meet everyone. By the time cocktail hour was over, salads were waiting on our tables and while we did a little munching before the main course got there, they did all their traditional dances. Dinner was fantastic~! Both Bill and I had the roast beef with gravy and mashed potatoes and veggies~! When everyone was finishing dinner and waiting for the cake cutting the speeches took place. The best man speech was killer. He did a little bit of everything, and you could really tell he took a lot of time and it meant a lot to both the bride and good. I was however, a little sad we had to leave early but it was the first day Bill was feeling better and we over did it. He was exhausted by the end of the evening. We got a chance to talk to AnnMarie and Kevin for a while and to wish them both the best. They are wonderful together and Im so glad I got to meet him.

Today was another wonderful day spent with friends~! We had a chance to hang out with the entire Zujovic family~! They are an awesome bunch to be around and always make one feel right at home. We had a steak bbq and it was killer too. We werent sure we were going to get a chance to meet up with them but it all worked out. :-)

That's all for now~! We will be home all week and next weekend so we'll see what I got cookin~! Im thinking about a little bbq pulled pork this week~! :-)
